This is a great podcast for people like me who are retired and can do some of the traveling that you suggested in the off season. I am looking forward to the second part of your traveling on a budget. Thanks a lot!!!

That's a pretty good savings there. Nice when you can keep $100 dollars in your pocket. We haven't used Priceline before because of the specific timing we used to need when we owned the physical therapy clinic, but I think we might give it a try now. Especially for hotels which sounds like a really great way to go if you can get good deals like that. The worst they can do is turn down your offer, right?

We saved about $100.00 on our hotel in San Francisco through perseverance. I was ready to book a room at the hotel where our friends were staying, but kept looking and eventually found something nearby for less. And we used to use Priceline for hotels in Chicago when we lived in that area. We'd put in a lowball bid (like $68.00/night) and Priceline would always give us one of the Hilton hotels downtown. It was pretty nice.
